Dr. Deman is the multi-talented Tanzanian young lady who holds a PhD in Medical Anthropology, from the University of Dodoma (UDOM) in Tanzania; Master of Science in International Studies and Development Cooperation, from EWHA Woman’s University-Seoul, in South Korea; and a Bachelor in Sociology, from the University of Dar es Salaam (UDSM) in Tanzania.
Dr. Deman has conducted numerous research projects, especially in areas of gender, health, sanitation, child protection and infectioius diseases. Dr Deman has conducted community based projects in various areas such as HIV, Youth, girls’ education and Women empowerment. She is more interested in issues of health and culture in the era of globalization, and how social interaction affects or is translated into human behaviour in relation to gender and indigenous communities.
