WAMATA joins ISW in fostering Social Work Practice in Tanzania.

Early July this year, ISW and Wamata (Shirika lisilo la kiserikali "walio katika mapambano ya AIDS Tanzania") signed a memorandum of understanding to partner in leveraging resources and capabilities to help the communities enhance their individual and collective wellbeing, to create space for social innovation that enhance knowledge and leadership capabilities, and creating a field practicum for ISW students to partake in field work/internship to optimize learning experience that will enhance the quality of social work profession.
ISW has been a longtime partner of WAMATA in advocating improvement of social welfare services through student’s practicum and collaborating on social work services provisions among different communities in Tanzania. This partnership comes at a time where there is need for services offered by qualified and experienced social workers, given ongoing life challenges experienced by individuals or families. The community is facing challenges resulting from poverty, addition, abuse, unemployment among others and all these need to be addressed for the betterment of the community and the nation at large.
The five years partnership see both parties having committed responsibility to perform activities related to fundraising, capacity building, community engagement, social work services and products, research and development, social innovation, publications, networking and consulting in social work.

ISW to tackle Social Issues in Mpakani A

Institute of Social Work in its new community engagement program has joined efforts with Mpakani A ward office to help curb Social issues affecting Mpakani A residents in Kijitonyama Dar es Salaam.
The ISW experts and Community leaders are working together to table issues that are affecting lives of people of Mpakani A and neighborhood.

Taasisi ya Ustawi ya Jamii yatoa Elimu ya Ustawi ya Jamii, Jinsia ya Maendeleo Simiyu

Taasisi ya Ustawi wa Jamii katika maonesho ya Nane Nane mkoani Simiyu inatoa elimu juu ya masuala ya ustawi wa jamii, jinsia na maendeleo ikizingatia kauli mbiu ya mwaka huu,” KWA MAENDELEO YA KILIMO, MIFUGO NA UVUVI CHAGUA VIONGOZI BORA 2020”.
Taasisi inatoa elimu kwa wanajamii wa Simiyu na maeneo yanayopakana na simiyu kuhusu masuala ya kijamii, wanawake na watoto. Vilevile, Taasisi imejikita katika kutoa elimu juu ya jinsia na maendeleo kwa kuhamasisha wananchi wa Simiyu kutumia rasilimali ardhi na mifugo ili kujikwamua kutoka kwenye umaskini, uduni wa elimu, utegemezi na unyanyasaji utokanao na kukosa kipato.

Elimu ya kujitambua itakayo saidia wananchi kupata viongozi bora

Kwa upande mwingine Taasisi inatoa elimu ya kujitambua itakayo saidia wananchi kupata viongozi bora watakao shirikiana nao katika kuleta maendeleo ya kweli ya kiuchumi, kijamii, kijinsia na kiutamaduni ikizingatiwa kuwa mwaka huu ni mwaka wa uchaguzi wa viongozi wetu wa taifa.

Taasisi pia inatambulisha kozi zake mbalimbali inazotoa

Taasisi pia inatambulisha kozi zake mbalimbali inazotoa kwa wanasimiyu na kuelezea namna zilivyo na umuhimu kwa jamii kulingana na matatizo yanayojitokeza katika jamii zetu za kitanzania. Maelezo ya sifa za kujiungana na kozi hizo pia yanatolewa pamoja na udahili unafanyika hapohapo katika dawati la Taasisi katika viwanja vya nane nane Simiyu.
Kozi zinazotolewa na Taasisi ni kozi za Ustawi wa Jamii, Mahusiano kazini na Menejimenti ya Uma, kozi ya Menejimenti ya Rasilimali watu, na kozi ya usimamizi wa biashara, kuanzia ngazi ya astashahada mpaka shahada ya kwanza na ngazi ya shahada ya uzamili kwa kozi Ustawi wa Jamii na Menejimenti ya rasilimali watu ya kimkakati. Wateja wanaofika katika dawati la Taasisi wanaelezwa umuhimu wa taaluma hizi katika kuondoa umaskini na kuboresha maisha.
