ISW to Host First International Conference on People’s Empowerment and Wellbeing

The Institute of Social Work (ISW) is hosting an International Conference on People's Empowerment and Wellbeing. The conference theme is "Empowering People and Transforming Societies: Pathways to Sustainable Wellbeing." The conference is expected to be held on June 5, 2026, at the Julius Nyerere International Conference Centre (JNICC) in Dar es Salaam. This International Conference aims to provide a unique opportunity for scholars, researchers, policymakers, and stakeholders to exchange knowledge, skills, and experiences on participatory and innovative approaches to improving social well-being and human development in general. At the Conference, Development and Social Welfare stakeholders from more than eleven countries around the world will make various presentations in the fields of Gender Participation and Women's Empowerment; Development, Protection and Rights of the Child; Entrepreneurship, Innovation and Digital Transformation; Mental Health and Social Welfare.
